Alvis Saloon TA 21 (1953)This hand-crafted Alvis is essentially a pre-war design continued by Alvis until the mid 50s. It constituted the last of their traditional saloons with side opening bonnet and separate wings. It is qualifies as 'a nice old car' rather than being artificially pristine and is comfortable and surprisingly sprightly to drive. Indeed it has been driven all over Scotland in the last few years. Price reduced as space needed. These cars are powered by a 3 litre, 6-cylinder engine which in some forms allowed a maximum speed of 100mph and have large hydraulically operated drums giving excellent braking. This model TA has upgraded compression giving it a lively performance which belies its stately appearance. The body, interior and mechanics were restored some 10 years ago by Earley Engineering and it is in a respectable well-used condition. It has been upgraded for modern driving by the addition of seat belts, flashing indicators, radial tyres and a neatly fitted radio with concealed aerial. The car is privately owned by one us at A1 Classic Cars. It is taxed, MoT'd until July 2010, serviced and ready to be delivered to the next owner.Price - οΎ£7.850 inc. UK delivery << Return to stock list
