Very few of these all aluminium Empress design were made by preferred Royal coachbuilders Hooper & Co of London on the Bentley MK VI chassis. The Empress design achieved a subtle marriage of Hooper's trademark razor edged, sloping treatment of the rear section with the roundness of the front section. It is believed that only around five examples of the Bentley MK VI Hooper Empress remain in Europe today.
Finished in two tone grey with dark grey hide, this very original RHD manual transmission example returned to the UK in 2007 following many years in a European collection. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2003 at a cost of Euros.15,000 and having only covered around 3,000 since, it is now niceley run-in and the car drives beautifully.
The accompanying large history file suggests that it has covered only 100,000 miles from new with the upholstery, carpets and headlining almost certainly being the originals and still in excellent condition. Fitted with its original electric windows. it also has an electric heater to boost the original water heated system.
A complete toolkit remains with the car including all the large tools, oilers, greasers and even the tool drawer with all small tools present.
