She was known in house as "The Other Gun". At this time we were, and still are, racing "Mother Gun". All the work was done at Stanley Mann Racing and all supervised by one of the best vintage Bentley racing engineers; Stuart Fearnside. "one of the top men in the vintage Bentley world".
History
In 2004 I went to H & H auctions to buy for a client an original 1927 3 litre Red Label Speed Model Bentley which was in need of a complete rebuild. His requirements were for a fast vintage Bentley for road use with luggage space and to play with on the track. This was the basis of the 3/8 Brooklands type Bentley we have here.
Rebuilt and two years later she was winning races and getting placed at Silverstone, Oulton Park, Donnington, etc.
Recently I borrowed this Bentley and drove her at Nurbergring, Schloss Dyke, and Silverstone. I?d like to say it goes really well, oh dear, but better than that; it goes like the preverbal sh*t off the shovel and all from a Bentley which is just as happy going down the country lanes of Hertfordshire.
For those technical minded here goes:
330 bhp and over 550lb ft of torque - in non tech terms: it feels like your head wants to leave your shoulders or "how to experience G force at zero feet".
Uprated Bentley brakes - yes, it can stop as well as it goes.
Weight of this Bentley is 1260 kg.
Now the time has come to move her on. If any of this excites you, please feel free to give me a call.
We won?t be building another.
If you?re still reading this and you?re fed up with your GT you?re already wanting to phone me and book an appointment to view (good call) so for a SMILE A MILE.
Make your way to The Fruit Farm and start to haggle.
