The car we offer here is a One owner car from when it was only a few weeks old and has covered only 41,000 miles from new and is fitted with a Manual with Overdrive gearbox and power steering. It was stored for over 25 years before its owner commissioned a full restoration with ?Classic Restorations? at a cost exceeding ?40,000 pounds. Detailed invoices for this restoration and invoices for work in the years which followed are all documented with this car & can be seen in the photographs. There is also a letter stating how the owner came to buy this special car and confirming its history. Since coming out of storage it has been completely dismantled and rebuilt with the aim of returning it to ?as new condition?, if not better than new. In order to achieve this all the mechanical parts of the car were removed as was all the brightwork, glass, interior trim and polished wood fittings. The body/chassis shell was stripped of all paint to bare metal with the corroded metal cut out and new panels continuously welded into place. The engine & gearbox were also completely stripped and overhauled using new bearings, new pistons, valves, valve guides etc. The overdrive unit was dismantled and re-assembled with new clutch parts, new operating pistons, bearings, oil seals etc. The electric system of the car has been completely rewired. The braking system has had all the hydraulic parts overhauled and fitted with new seals as required, the brake discs have all been renewed and all pipe work replaced with copper alloy pipes and fittings.The front & rear suspension has been stripped and rebuilt using new bushes, ball joints, mountings, new road springs and new shock absorbers all round. The car has also been fitted with power assisted steering using all Jaguar parts. All of the brightwork on the car has either been triple chrome plated or replaced with new parts. All body glass has been replaced along with new guide channels and new rubber seals throughout. A new stainless steel exhaust has been fitted. Internally the car has had a new headlining and new carpets specifically made. All the interior woodwork has been stripped and re-polished to restore it?s original appearance and texture.
