This beautiful +2S 130 has a wonderful story and only one family owner until 2001. A letter from the family states that the car was purchased new from Hexagon Motors Highgate in 1971. That day the car was taken to the family home by its new owner, his young niece was take for a spin, and she was smitten. Over the next 6 years the Lotus was only used when the owner, a captain in the navy was on leave. He often collected his niece from school during this leave and 18 years after she first went for that spin her uncle gave her the chance to buy it. Over the next 12 years she lavished over ?20,000 pounds on the car with a local Lotus Main dealer and used it as her run-around. In 1991 after the original chassis cracked a new galvanised chassis was installed by the lotus dealer, and in 1998 with just 63400 miles recorded a full body restoration was completed by the same Lotus Dealer at a cost of over ?7000. In 2001 due to personal reason she reluctantly decided to sell the Lotus to a local gentleman. The new owner garaged and cherished it covering just 2000 miles over the next 9 years. The mileage is now recorded at just 72000 miles. As you can imagine with this much money having been spent she is just lovely, she drives beautiful, the interior is original and excellent, the paintwork and chrome fantastic.
