The Monafaro as the A6G. CS is fondly known by aficionados enjoys an important part of Maserati racing history as the car that won its first race it was entered into in Modena, Italy.The first A6 model was introduced in Geneva in March 1947, this model evolved into the production of the A6G 2000: G standing for ?Ghisa? in recognition of its cast-iron cylinder block.Our car # 2006 is one of only 3 models ever made. Supplied new to Baron Nicola Musmeci in May 1948, the original factory ?Certificato? is part or the extensive history that accompanies the car confirming manufacture# 2006 has superb race history victories (6) / class wins (3) from 1948 to its first Mille Miglia entry in 1951. It is noted that this particular car was one of the most successful racing Maserati of that period.The first change of ownership took place in 1972 when the car was purchased by Giulio Dubbini. He sent the car to Fantuzzi of Modena. Italy, the original coachbuilders to undergo a complete body off restoration. During the thirty five years of ownership by the Dubbini family the car saw very little use. Cars International acquired the Maserati directly from the Dubbini family in 2007. Prior to entry in the 2008 Mille Milga a comprehensive restoration and overhaul was completed and further works, including a complete engine rebuild were completed after the eventToday we are delighted presented for sale one of the most famous Maserati racing cars ever produced, with only 3 owners since 1948 complete with UK registration, current FIA papers, period history documents and photographs and restoration featured pictorial.
