Whoever first said 'don't judge a book by its cover' had probably just seen this Midget. At first glance you would politely describe it as 'scruffy' but it deserves a closer look. Let me tell you the story: we bought it as an unfinished project from a man who had spent hundreds of hours on its restoration but was forced to abandon it due to poor health. Our plan was to tuck it away until the winter and then finish it as a project for the quieter months. We knew that the floor pan and inner structure had been restored to a very high standard and that most of the body restoration left to do was cosmetic. As you can see all the repaired areas have been finished with several coats of blue Hammerite, inside and out so should last for years. When we got it home it seemed to run very well (of which more later) and also everything appeared to work. "Just for a laugh, let's put it in for an MOT" said the resident joker. Well the joke's on him because it came back with just a single fail - a front wheel bearing!
