This 911 is a delightful and very original example of a model which is becoming increasingly rare. Porsche developed semi automatic transmission system - essentially a 4 speed gearbox with a clutch mechanism actuated by microswitches rather than a clutch pedal, and hence arguably not dissimilar to a modern Tiptronic in Sport mode - is frequently maligned, generally because like most electro mechanical devices they need to be set up and maintained properly if they are to function efficiently - and many aren't.Chassis # 11820746 was completed at Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen in 1968 and supplied new as a Right Hand Drive model via AFN Limited, Isleworth. It was original presented with Sand Beige 6607 body colour and black leatherette interior, this scheme is still current on the car today. 40 years on the car has been loaned to Porsche GB for display at both the new Porsche Driving Centre at Silverstone and Porsche GB Reading.First registered in the UK on the 01.08.1968 this A-Series car shows a build date of late 1967.
