A baby Rolls which became known as the ‘Twenty’, was introduced in 1922 when an increasing number of owners were driving the car themselves. The Twenty evolved into the 20/25 with 25 h.p. in 1929 and by 1936 to the 25/30 with a 4.257 litre engine yielding 29 h.p. (RAC). Only 1201 cars were produced with this larger engine and they are now highly sought after.
This particular car with an elegant Park Ward body has matured well. It has spent most of its life in Kent and was for the last 20 years owned as part of a collection making occasional trips for local weddings. It has been well serviced and the beautifully crafted engine runs like clockwork with the correct oil pressure and almost silently. The servo assisted brakes are fine in modern traffic and the whole car is a delight to drive.
The aluminium bodywork is good with some evidence of its age here and there and the interior has been refurbished in soft dark brown leather. The sunroof is sealed, but its operation could be easily renewed (by us if desired). It is MoT’d until January 2011 and ready to be used or kept as an investment. Offers welcome.
