Classic cars for sale are extremely varied in their style, performance and purpose. Over the last century, the automotive industry has seen all sorts of shapes and sizes roll off the production line, which makes choosing vintage cars great fun. This guide details the types of old car that could potentially be your next purchase.

Classic Cars for Sale – Sports

Some of the most popular kinds of old car belong in the sports car category. The vehicles of this type vary greatly depending on the time that they were made in. It is fair to say that the later the car was made, the more driveable it is. Many vintage cars under the sports umbrella still have plenty of parts available, meaning the maintenance is easier and lifespan extended.

Classic Cars for Sale – Saloons and Sedans

These types of classic cars are probably the most affordable out of all the categories. Vehicles dating back to the 1960s arguably offer the most in terms of interest and practicality. Spares are not hard to come by from this era and they do not cost too much to run. Given that British manufacturers were some of the world’s best at the time, the choice of old car from the ‘60s is fantastic.

Commercial Classic Cars and Vehicles

When it comes to commercial vehicles the choice is probably a little more limited. Certain old trucks can still be used reliably today though. It is fair to say that many commercial classic cars for sale are better used for show purposes, rather than regular functional use. Vehicles such as old buses, coaches, lorries, ice-cream vans and fire engines can all be bought and are more appropriate to collectors and those with the space to store them. Spares for this type of old car or other vehicle can be quite tricky to find given their rarity, and using parts from other cars normally will not work.
