How to create and edit a page
From Classic Car Life
For a more detailed guide to making your page look just how you want it to, see Formatting Text
Making Headings
You mark up headings by adding 'equals' signs either side of the word (try using one, two, or even three equals signs) with a line space so you get a gap between the text above the heading. Don't worry that the heading clashes with the text above when you save the page, this will be changed soon when we amend the presentation styles.
Making Links
AC 2 Litre Any 'classic car related terms' or makes and models in the text should be made in to links by adding 'square brackets' either side of the word (see also how we made those bits 'bold' by adding 'single speak marks').
Where you want the words to be different to the link, you can use the 'vertical pipe' to show different text like this Two-litre
Adding Images
You can also ad image. First you need to click Upload file (in the left margin) upload image and upload your image, then take note of the image name and you can use it to display a thumbnbail like the image to the right here
You can also use the following notation if you want to get really smart:
- [[File:File.jpg]] to use the full version of the file
- [[File:File.png|200px|thumb|left|alt text]] to use a 200 pixel wide rendition in a box in the left margin with 'alt text' as description
- [[Media:File.ogg]] for directly linking to the file without displaying the file
